A shopper who buys a kitchen faucet on Amazon can now see an ad for a local plumber on the order confirmation page. Amazon Ads announced the format, Sponsored Services, on September 29 at its unBoxed event, and it draws on Yelp advertisers.
The ads also run on product detail and package tracking pages. Each carries two buttons. “Call” dials the professional without leaving Amazon, and “Quote” sends a request for an estimate. Plumbers, electricians, landscapers, home cleaners, roofers, and movers are among the listed trades.
Four limits apply. The format is live now, in the US only, for Yelp advertisers only, within eligible home and auto services categories only. Amazon Ads published no pricing, bidding, or targeting details.
Local service discovery is moving to the moment of purchase on a retail platform, outside Google search and Maps. The announcement ties the placement to Yelp, not to a Google Business Profile. Local service teams should confirm their Yelp profile is current and check whether their category qualifies before the format widens.
