Microsoft is layering new badges onto Bing’s product carousels, tagging listings with Top Picks, Price Drop, Sale and view-count labels. Khushal Bherwani surfaced the Top Picks badge in a screenshot posted to X, and Search Engine Watch separately documented the view-count treatment appearing in Bing’s shopping tab.
The badges sit inside the carousel format Bing already uses for shopping results, adding a merchandising layer on top of price and rating data shoppers already see.
This is a distinct experiment from Bing’s left sidebar shopping filters, which this publication also reported on September 17. The two tests are running independently, not as pieces of one combined redesign.
Search Engine Roundtable, which flagged the sighting the same day, noted the labels are not entirely new: some variants have surfaced in earlier tests. Bing has not published the criteria that trigger Top Picks or Price Drop.
Retailers should treat the labels as algorithmic merchandising signals to monitor for inclusion, not a documented spec to optimize against yet.
