Google Ads has begun rolling out a Translation tool inside the advertiser console, built to help campaigns reach customers in other languages. Search Engine Roundtable reported it on Oct. 22, saying Jyll Saskin Gales appears to have posted about it first on LinkedIn.
Per her post, advertisers open Tools, then Translation. She listed what it handles: text assets such as headlines, descriptions, sitelinks, and callouts; keywords for targeting; images, where AI swaps the on-image text and adds the translated version as extra assets; and landing pages, either through uploaded URLs or a JavaScript snippet installed on the site.
Barry Schwartz thinks this may belong to the localization tool covered in a recent help document for Search campaigns, but he says he could be wrong. Google has not clarified the relationship.
Because translation here runs through Google AI, multilingual advertisers should review output for brand terms and keyword intent before launch. Machine-translated keywords rarely map one to one to how local searchers phrase queries.
