Google quietly tightened Google Ads appeal policy on July 21, updating its documentation without a blog post, video, or liaison announcement. The new guidance states: “Starting July 21, 2026, the option to appeal a policy decision directly from your Google Ads account will not be available for policy decisions made more than 6 months prior. For such issues, please contact Google Ads support.” Advertisers now get a six-month window to contest a disapproval through Policy Manager before the process shifts to a slower support channel. Barry Schwartz reported the update for Search Engine Roundtable on July 22, noting an advertiser also flagged the removal of the “All affected ads in the account” bulk-appeal option, which now forces a separate appeal every time an ad gets edited. The practical move: review any disapprovals older than a few months and file appeals now, before the self-serve window closes and support becomes the only route.
