Google Business Profile users are reporting a bug that pushes product listings into Pending status, affecting both new submissions and products that were already approved and live. Barry Schwartz reported the issue for Search Engine Roundtable on Friday, citing threads on X, the Google Business Profiles Forum, and the Local Search Forum. The complaints describe products that had been live for months suddenly reverting to Pending without any edit or resubmission, in some cases across multiple profiles managed by the same account. Google has not acknowledged the problem, and no fix or timeline has been announced.

The account is aggregated from user reports, not confirmed by Google, so scope and cause remain unclear.

A previously approved product flipping back to Pending is a different failure than a new submission queuing for review: it points to a state change on existing records rather than a review backlog. Anyone using Business Profile products as a merchandising surface should verify their live listings are still displaying rather than assume Pending only means the item is waiting in queue.
