Google refreshed its AI Max for Search help documentation on June 23, 2026, adding the first formal record of when Dynamic Search Ads campaigns will be converted: February 2027, automatically, whether advertisers act beforehand or not.
The update introduces four segmented reporting views, letting PPC managers compare search term performance from AI Max alongside legacy DSA data before the migration date arrives. Google also added the ability to exclude underperforming terms or landing pages via negative keywords and negative URLs.
A new section covers travel advertisers specifically, rolling Travel Promotion Ads, Booking Links, and Travel Feed formats into one view with format-level segmentation.
The documentation also updates optimization guidance, advising advertisers to favor conversion goals ahead of keyword relevance, check search-term data every one to two weeks, and limit negative keywords to avoid cutting off AI-driven intent matching.
No new product features shipped with this update. Search Engine Land reported the documentation change adds no new ad-platform capabilities, only guidance and a confirmed migration date.
PPC managers running DSA campaigns now have a fixed deadline and a reporting structure to benchmark AI Max performance before the February 2027 forced upgrade.
