Microsoft Advertising has added a Search term landing page report built specifically for AI Max, the automated targeting layer it took worldwide this month. The report pairs each matched search term with the final URL AI Max chose to serve, alongside campaign, ad group, headline, and conversion data.

Microsoft Ads Liaison Navah Hopkins detailed the release on LinkedIn, distinguishing the new report from two existing ones: “Search terms,” which blends AI Max, Performance Max, and standard search matches, and “Search term insights,” which covers Performance Max alone. Neither previously isolated how AI Max connected a query to the page that served.

That distinction matters because AI Max dynamically selects landing pages per query, sometimes overriding the URL an advertiser specified. Reporting was the missing layer: advertisers could see that a click happened but not which page the system decided to serve or why performance moved. The new report gives that visibility directly, tying spend and conversion rate to the actual final URL and its source.

Advertisers running AI Max should pull this report before the next budget review to check whether high-spend search terms are landing on pages they would have chosen manually.

Search Engine Roundtable reported the release, based on Navah Hopkins’s LinkedIn post detailing the new template.
