Google Ads now ships a Campaign Data Import Validation Report, a dedicated check for advertisers pulling performance numbers in from outside platforms. The tool flags gaps in that imported data before those numbers reach a live dashboard.
The report scans both freshly imported campaigns and records already loaded into an account, surfacing rows where core metrics never made the trip. Cost figures, click totals, and impression counts are the fields most likely to arrive blank, and the tool calls out exactly which campaigns are short.
Search Engine Land noted that gaps like these distort cross-channel comparisons, since a campaign missing cost data will look artificially efficient next to one with a full record. The new check gives teams a way to catch that distortion before it shapes a budget decision.
For any team blending non-Google spend into a unified report, this validation step becomes a pre-flight check worth running before month-end numbers go to a client or a finance lead, since an incomplete import can quietly skew which channel gets next quarter’s budget.
Search Engine Land reported the new report on August 11, 2026, in a story by Anu Adegbola.
