Wix launched Symphony on August 26, an AI agent platform aimed specifically at small and local businesses such as restaurants, retailers and consultants. The launch puts Wix in a growing field of website builders and content management vendors packaging AI agents as a business-management layer rather than a single generative writing tool. Wix says the distinction is that Symphony ties its agents to an operator’s actual workflows instead of requiring a business owner to write and manage prompts.
Symphony’s coordinating agent, called Maestro, tracks activity across the business, flags what needs attention and assigns tasks to specialized agents. Those agents connect to tools the business already uses, deliver updates and analytics and escalate approval-required actions to the owner. Wix also built a daily “morning meeting” feature into the platform, where agents summarize completed work and surface opportunities drawn from customer behavior and business activity.
Wix frames Symphony as a trust-building layer. The company says the daily review process is meant to improve accuracy before agents act with more autonomy. That claim rests entirely on Wix’s own description of the system: the announcement does not include benchmark data, error rates or any third-party testing of how often Maestro’s task assignments require correction.
Ronny Elkayam, Wix’s chief operating officer, said the company “built Symphony to be the go-to AI agent orchestrator for SMBs. With Symphony, any business owner can have the team they need to scale.” That framing positions Symphony against generic AI assistants that require a small operator to direct every prompt, a workflow Wix argues does not scale for a business with limited time.
Search Engine Journal, which first reported the launch, noted that Wix sites already score well on Core Web Vitals relative to competing content management systems. An agent layer that keeps listings, offers and site copy current without manual edits could narrow the maintenance gap that leaves small-business sites stale between agency engagements. That matters for local search in particular, where freshness and consistency across a Google Business Profile and the linked website influence local pack visibility.
Symphony’s real audience is the agencies and freelancers who manage multiple small local clients, not enterprise search teams. Those agencies should pilot the platform on one low-risk account first and watch specifically whether agent-generated changes to site copy or listings pass through any SEO review before they publish, since Wix has not disclosed an editorial or quality-control gate on agent output once it reaches a live site.
Search Engine Journal’s Roger Montti reported the Symphony launch on August 26, 2026.
