Developers who manage Google Ads through code have a new version to plan around: the 26th version of the API is live. Search Engine Roundtable reported the release on October 15, noting that Google published refreshed client libraries and code examples alongside it.

Google’s announcement says teams must upgrade their libraries and their own code before they can use the new capabilities. The headline additions include Search Lift measurement, creation of Local Services Performance Max campaigns, a unified setup for enhanced conversions, and a streamlined flow for EU political advertising declarations. Travel bid modifiers that work across verticals, plus Shopping and Demand Gen changes, round out the list. The full changelog covers SMS messaging, hotel center accounts, and more.

Major versions carry deprecation schedules, so skipping this one has a cost. Agencies and in-house teams running automated reporting or bidding scripts should read the changelog and scope the migration work before older versions stop being supported.
