Google Ads published a help document describing automated promotions, a feature that scans an advertiser’s website for active offers and applies them to ads without a manual upload step. Search Engine Roundtable reported the addition on September 7.

The document says Google identifies deals such as “20% off on black sweaters” directly from landing pages and attaches them to eligible Search and Performance Max campaigns. Eligibility requires active campaigns with location assets attached, including Local Ad campaigns, no manual promotions already running, and compliance with standard advertising policies.

This extends a pattern already visible in Google Merchant Center, which has automatically surfaced promotions from site content for several years. Advertisers who want exact control should keep promotional text current or upload offers manually, per Google’s own guidance.

Accounts running location-based Search or Performance Max campaigns should audit landing-page promotional copy now, since outdated text could surface in ads automatically.
