Google has started sending Google Business Profile owners an email asking them to confirm a Maps user’s suggested edit before it takes effect. The message reads “Does this look right to you?” and shows the proposed change, with buttons to mark it correct or incorrect.

The email states that a Maps user flagged outdated information and suggested an update, in the spotted case a change to the business title. Owners get four days to respond, and Google says the feedback helps keep listings accurate.

The format was spotted and posted to X by Lluc B. Penycate, and covered by Search Engine Roundtable. Google has long solicited crowdsourced edits from Maps users, but building an explicit owner-confirmation step into the workflow adds a verification layer that was not previously visible in this form.

Business owners who manage multiple locations should treat these emails as time-sensitive, since an unanswered suggestion could still get applied or left in limbo past the four-day window.
