Developers who build on Google’s Merchant API have a new set of changes to review, Search Engine Roundtable reported, citing Google’s October 2026 release notes dated October 26. Reporting grows on two fronts: YouTube Shopping affiliate reporting and a UCP agentic performance report, both in the v1alpha preview stage.
Product data gains fields for offer-level video links and broader warranty support. Other additions include certification links, UK energy efficiency values, vehicle mileage allowance for installments, and a store homepage URI in the Accounts sub-API. Diagnostics improve through offer-level account issue denormalization, which should help teams trace disapprovals.
One item is a removal: YoutubeProductPerformanceView, also v1alpha, is deprecated. Anyone pulling from it should plan a migration. Google also added third-party service provider documentation, Java samples for region batching, and notification pagination defaults.
Alpha-stage reporting can change again, so build dashboards on it cautiously. Retail teams should audit feeds for video and warranty data now, since the new attributes give those offers more to show.
