Google Ads now shows a “Sourced videos” on/off toggle in asset optimization, handing Google AI the job of finding videos and attaching them to campaigns. Search Engine Roundtable’s Barry Schwartz reported the setting on Oct. 23 after Reva Minkoff flagged it on LinkedIn.

Per Google’s help page, as quoted by Schwartz, the feature applies to Performance Max campaigns and works at the campaign level. Advertisers must approve sources, which can include social media platforms, the landing page and a linked YouTube channel. Up to 10 crawled videos can join an asset group. Google says the setting is on by default for new campaigns, and it may also have switched on for some existing ones during a platform update.

Search Engine Land separately reported new image and video sourcing options for Performance Max. Account managers should audit the toggle on live campaigns now, and review approved sources so outdated brand video does not surface in ads.
