Performance Max advertisers may soon get a built-in way to test creative changes. Search Engine Roundtable reported Oct. 21 that a toggle labeled “Save and test asset group changes” appears to be reaching accounts, though the rollout is only suspected. Search Engine Land also covered it.

Per the interface text, it lets advertisers gauge how edits to headlines, descriptions, images, and videos affect results, and the asset group is locked for editing until the experiment ends. Joey Bidner spotted the toggle and shared a screenshot on LinkedIn, saying it suits comparing two messaging angles for one product category, provided a full alternative creative set exists.

Because Google has not confirmed anything, treat this as a sighting, not a launch. Availability and result reporting remain undetailed.

If it reaches your accounts, the editing lock matters for planning: queue one clean creative hypothesis at a time rather than stacking several changes into a single test.
